First Generation

II. Geevarghese Muthalaly

Geevarghese Muthalaly was Koipuram Kochidichandy Muthalaly’s (Judge Valiappan’s) nephew Judge Valiappan acquired land at Nedumchira locality and paddy fields near Kuttichira. gifted his property in Nedumchira to his nephew Geevarghese Muthalaly, who had built a hunting shed on top of a hill in that area. Even before he settled down at his Nedumchira property, A good huntsman, Geevarghese Muthalaly knew the layout of the land well. He had two sons and a daughter. His daughter was married to Kunjumathunny of Manchadivilakam.

Second Generation

II. (1). George (Gumasthan) Muthalaly

George (Gumasthan) Muthalaly was the eldest son of Geevarghese Muthalaly of Nedumchira, George Muthalaly married Soshamma of Alinmoottil, Puthenkavu. They settled down at Puthenveettil, Nedumchira, in the year 1032 ME. George Muthalaly was proficient in English and worked as a clerk in the Trading Centre of the East India Company at Anchuthengu. He was therefore known as Gumasthan Muthalaly. He invented a new process for extracting lemon oil and started an industry. During(1050-1060 ME), he joined the ‘leyo’ cult of Vidwn Kutty Achan but later came to the Mar Thoma faith. His daughter, married into the Palakunnathu family, which helped him in his return to the parent church. His leadership and active interest helped in establishing a Mar Thoma Church in Kaithakuzhi. He had three sons and four daughters.

 

Third Generation

II.(1).1. Mariamma

Mariamma is Gumasthan Muthalaly’s eldest daughter - She was married to Kulanjiyil in Kurudamanail, Ayroor.

II.(1).2. Achiyamma

Gumasthan Muthalaly’s Second daughter - Achiyamma was married to the Vadakkumkarayil family in Kaithakuzhi.

II.(1).3. Thankamma

Gumasthan Muthalaly’s third daughter , Thankamma was married to Abraham Appothiciri, Palakunnathu Maramon.

II.(1).4. Aleyamma

Aleyamma, is the youngest daughter of Gumasthan Muthalaly. She was married to Varghese Vaidyan, Painuveettil, Thevalakkara.

II.(1).5. George George Muthalaly

George George Muthalaly (Shirastar Muthalaly) is the eldest son of George Muthalaly (Gumasthan Muthalaly of Nedumchira Puthenveedu. George Muthalaly, (Shirastar Muthalaly) after completing his schooling in Thiruvananthapuram, joined the Travancorc government service. He married Annamma of Manamel, Mepral, who passed away in 1947. George Muthalaly was a god-fearing and pious man, He had great compassion towards his fellow beings. His able leadership guided the Mar Thoma Church, Kaithakuzhi, during its early years. He retired from Quilon as Shirastar and passed away in 1932. He had four sons and five daughters.

Fourth Generation

II.(1).5.1. George

George, the eldest son, of Shirastar Muthalaly, drowned while bathing in the river. He was then a student at the M T Seminary, Kottayam.

II.(1).5.2. Dr George Philip

Dr George Philip (Peelippochan). Dr. George Philip is the second son of George (Shirastar Muthalaly) of Puthenveedu, Nedumchira. He joined the Madras Government medical service as a doctor after completing his L.M.P. After serving in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, he retired in 1941 and settled down in Nedumchira Bungalow (River Side). He started a hospital in memory of his father and continued serving the people till his death in 1989. His wife hailed from Kottayam - Kovoor family of Thiruvella. They had four sons and a daughter.

Fifth Generation

II.(1).5.2.1. Philip Varghese

Philip Varghese is the eldest son of Dr. George Philip. He died in a railway accident in 1946.

II.(1).5.2.2. Annamma

Annamma, the only daughter of Dr George Philip, was married to K M Mathew of Malayala Manorama. She passed away in 2003. K.M. Mathew is also no more. They have three sons and a daughter. Sons- 1) Mammen Mathew, 2) Philip Mathew and 3) Jacob Mathew. Thankam is the only daughter of Annamma and K.M. Mathew.

II.(1).5.2.3. Philip Pothen

Philip Pothen is the second son of Dr George Philip. He was with the Central Excise Department. He married Joyamma of Kochiyil House, Thirvalla and settled down in Chennai. Philip Pothen passed away in April 2001 and Joyamma passed away on April 11, 2012. They have two sons.

II.(1).5.2.3.1. Roy Philip

Roy Philip, son of Philip Pothen, married Sunita from Kunnamkulam. He passed away while working in Muscat. His wife is also no more. They have two children, Rahul and Rohit.

II.(1).5.2.3.1.1. Rahul Roy

Rahul Roy is the elder son of Roy Philip and Sunita. He is working with DELL Computers in Bangalore. His wife is Linda D/o Suresh Thomas and Liny Thomas of Panampunna family in Kottayam. Linda is also working in Bangalore.

II.(1).5.2.3.1.2. Rohit Roy

Rohit Roy is the second son of Roy Philip and Sunita. Rohit is working as Business Development Manager in a company (MTG Active) in Bangalore.

Sixth Generation

II.(1).5.2.3.2. Ranji Philip

Ranji Philip - Second son of Philip Pothen, took his M. Tech. from IIT, Madras. He is settled in Chennai. Ranji is unmarried.

Fifth Generation

II.(1).5.2.4. Dr Mathew Philip (Mathukutty)

Dr Mathew Philip (Mathukutty), FRCS the third son of Dr George Philip, after graduating from Stanley Medical College, Chennai went to the US (1954 to 1958) for his higher studies and then took his FRCS from England. He worked in the Christian Medical College, Vellore, for a year and then joined the Calicut Medical College as Professor of Surgery.

After retirement, he now lives in Riverside Bungalow. Kaithakuzhi. He was practising in Kottiyam Holy Cross Hospital and Kaithakuzhi George Memorial Hospital. He married to Gracy Philip of Edathumpadical. Gracy Philip passed away in 2008. They have a daughter and a son.

Sixth Generation

II.(1).5.2.4.1. Dr Susan Philip

Dr. Mathew Philip’s daughter, Dr Susan Philip was born in 1954. She passed out with 1st rank (gold medalist) from Calicut Medical College. She was a member of the Kerala State basketball team and was also interested in athletics. She met with a tragic accident and died in 1978.

II.(1).5.2.4.2. Dr. Philip Mathew

Dr. Philip Mathew (Thampi), S/o Dr. Mathew Philip, passed out from Calicut Medical College in 1986 and took his MD from the Christian Medical College, Vellore. He continued his higher education both in the UK and in the US. He is the winner of several awards and has been recognized as a specialist by the American Medical Board in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He is based in Kaithakuzhy and New Jersey, USA. Currently Thampi is in India doing drug research in various centres.

II.(1).5.2.5 Philip John (Appu)

Philip John (Appu) is the fourth son of Dr George Philip. He passed away while working in Tata Oil Mills, Chennai. His wife is Lallu from Kottil family, Kottayam. His son is Santhosh.




Sixth Generation

II.(1).5.2.5.1. Santhosh

Santhosh is the only son of Philip John and Lallu. He works in a computer firm in Chennai, where he lives with his mother.

Fourth Generation

II.(1).5.3. George Mathew (Mathaikutty)

George Mathew (Mathaikutty) is the third son of Shirastar Muthalaly. After taking his law degree, he started his career as a teacher in Kayamkulam High School. Later he joined government service in various capacities all over the then Travancore state. He became the superintendent of the state Anchal Department and then Secretary to the Government of Kerala. He married Rachel, daughter of Dewan Bahadur G T Varghese of Pookkoyikkal. An honest and god fearing officer, he took decisions without being influenced by recommendations. He passed away at the age of 56. They have three daughters.

II.(1).5.3.1 Dr Ammini George

Dr Ammini George is the eldest daughter of George Mathew. She was the Vice-Principal and Professor of English Literature in Ethiraj College, Chennai. She was married to K A George, son of K. Abraham of Kovilakathu, Kozhencheny. She passed away in 1996.

II.(1).5.3.2. Dr Grace Mathew

Dr Grace Mathew is the second daughter of George Mathew. She was unmarried and was a Professor. Dr. Grace Mathew retired as the Head of the Department of Medical & Psychiatric Social Works, Tata Institute of Social Science Mumbai. She passed away in 2010 (21-07-10).

II.(1).5.3.3. Mary (Angy) lype

Mary (Angy) lype is the youngest daughter of George Mathew. She married Advocate V. G. Iype (Baby), Mullikulangara, Vanmelil, Mavelikkara. They have a daughter and three sons. Mary lype (Angy) passed away in 1999 (10-12-1999).

Iype Varghese (Prakash), B.A and Diploma in Banking is the eldest son of Angy and Baby. Prakash is a Senior Manager in IOB. He married Joyce Varghese, daughter of N.A. George of Mundarakunnathil, Anamala. They have six daughters.

Vinitha Maris Mathew, BMM (DOB 07 – 03 – 1984) is the elder daughter of Kochu Bava. She is working as Brand Manager, Hindustan Unilever, Mumbai. She is married to Akshay, Brand Manager, Tata Motors, Mumbai.

Vinaya Susan, (DOB 13 – 04 – 1986) is the second daughter of Kochu Bava. She is married to Ajiss Benjamin Chacko, Divisional Manager of Al – Husaike , Dubai DOM 22.06.09.

Vivin Iype Mathew is the only son of Iype Mathew (Kochu Bava), (DOB 13 – 04 – 1986). He is twin brother of Vinaya Susan Mathew. Vivin took his postgraduate diploma in Marketing Management from Auckland University, New Zealand. He is now working as Customer Relations Manager in New Zealand.

Currently he is a Vice President (HR) at Wadhwa Group, Mumbai. He married Sheila Mathew, (DOM 30 – 12 – 1982) daughter of C S Koshy and Susy of Cherukara. They have a son and two daughters.

Dr. Susan Mathew is the only daughter of Angy and Baby. She works as a Co-ordinator, Alert India, Mumbai. She is married to Mathew Samuel, son of Mr. Samuel of Thekkolil, Maramon. Mathew Samuel is a Professor in Mumbai. They have two sons, Johann Samuel Mathew and Jordan Iype Mathew.

Achankunju is the fourth son of Shirastar Muthalaly, He died of snakebite at a young age.

Shoshamma, the eldest daughter of Shirastar Muthalaly, is married to Thomas Vaidyan, Thondapurathu, Thevalakkara.

Rebeccamma, the second daughter of Shirastar Muthalaly, is married to Pothen of Veeyapuram, Chathankeril.

Kunjamma, the third daughter of Shirastar Muthalaly, is married to Dr Koshy Mathew of Thondanmelil, Thumpamon.

Kocheliyamma, the fourth daughter of Shirastar Muthalaly, is married to K.O. Philip of Kochuveettil, Ashtamudi.

Saramma, the youngest and the fifth daughter of Shirastar Muthalaly, is married to M O Varghese of Manapurathu, Ashtamudi.

II.(2). Oommachan

Oommachan is the second son of Geevarghese Muthalaly. He is married from Karthikapalli. They had no children. He died young.

Fourth Generation

II.(1).6. Mathaichan Muthalaly

Mathaichan Muthalaly of Nedumchira, Karimbum panayil is the second son of Gumasthan Muthalaly of Nedumchira Puthenveedu, Mathaichan married Mariamma of Kanjirathummoodu, Chengulam, and inherited her properly. After living there for a long time, he built a house in Karimbumpanayil and settled down there. Mathaichan Muthalaly was an expert in agriculture and animal husbandry. His bullock cart was considered a work of art in those days. An honest and God fearing man, he gave effective leadership in church activities. He was the manager of the St Thomas School, Kaithakuzhi, till his death. He had four sons and six daughters.

Soshamma, the eldest daughter of Mathaichan Muthalaly – is married to Unnoonny, Chakkalyil, Ashtamudi.

Aleykutty (one of the twins) was the youngest daughter of Mathaichan Muthalaly. She is married to T K Koshy Vaidyan of Thondapurathu, Thevalakkara.

II.(1).6.7. Ummachan Muthalaly

Ummachan is the eldest son of Mathaichan Muthalaly. He married Jayadevi, D/o Mathai Simon of Kurudamannil Thadathil family of Ayroor. Since Mathai Simon’s only son expired at a very young age Ummachan was adopted to Kurudamannil Thadathil family by Mathai Simon. So Ummachan stayed with Jayadevi at her house in Ayroor. Incidentally it was Jayadevi’s second marriage with Ummachan as her first husband (said to be a person from Nedumchira branch of our family) died soon after their marriage Ummachan and Jayadevi had two daughters – Mariamma and Annamma- and two sons – Chandy and Mathaikutty. After the death of Jayadevi, Ummachan and his children shifted to Anchal, Chengulam in Kollam Dist. However, after the death of Ummachan his children went back to Ayroor and settled at Kumbanad.

II.(1).6.8. Georgekutty (Kochunnoonny)

Georgekutty (Kochunnoonny) is the second son of Mathaichan Muthalaly. Kochunnoonny took care of his father’s property and the property inherited by him from his mother’s side. He married Rahelamma, daughter of Ummoomman Vaidyan. Thondapuram, Thevalakkara. They have two sons and two daughters. Georgekutty passed away in 1984 and his wife Rahelamma in 1983.

II.(1).6.8.1 Mariakutty

Mariakutty, the first daughter of Kochunnoonny is married to Iype of Puthenpurakal family at Karuvatta.

II.(1).6.8.2 Podiyamma

Podiyamma, the second daughter of Kochunnoonny is married to George of Kalapurakkal Puthenveedu, Karuvatta.

II.(1).6.8.3. K. G. Mathew (Kunjukunju)

K. G. Mathew (Kunjukunju), the first son of Kochunnoonny died in an accident in Assam at the age of 21 while he was in military service.

II.(1).6.8.4. K G Thomas (Baby)

K G Thomas (Baby), M.Sc. the second son of Kochunnoonny completed his schooling in Ashramam High School, Perumbavoor and graduated from Karaikudi Alagappa Chettiar College. After teaching in Loyola College, Chennai, he did his Post Graduation in Aligarh University and joined the Fatima Mata National College, Kollam from where he retired as Professor. He married Somi, daughter of K I George, Kurudamannil, Ayroor. They have four daughters. Somi passed away in 1994 and Baby passed away in 2007. Just a few years prior to his death, Baby married Susan Thomas (Kumari) of Kadalazhikam family, Kaithakuzhy.

II.(1).6.8.4.1 Dr Rachel Thomas

Dr Rachel Thomas (Thankam), MBBS, DGO, is married to Dr George Thomas, BSc, MBBS, DCH of Kannonthra, Meenadam, Kottayam. They have two daughters. Dr. George Thomas passed away in Feb. 2010.

II.(1).6.8.4.2. Dr Mariam Koshy

Dr Mariam Koshy (Bavakutty), BSc, MBBS, DCH. Is married to Dr Sathish Koshy (MD) of Cherukarayil Mavilathu, Mavelikkara. They have one daughter.

II,(1).6.8.4.3. Susan John Philip

Susan John Philip, B.Com. married to John Philip (BSc, Engineering), of Chittakkattuveedu, Jawahar Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram. They have one daughter.

II.(1).6.8.4.4. Sara George (Kunju)

Sara George (Kunju), MA. is married to Mohan George, of Painummottil, Tiruvalla. They have one son.

Fifth Generation

II.(1).6.9. Kochukunju

Kochukunju is the third son of Mathaichan Muthalaly of Karimbumpanayil. Kochukunju passed away through an attack of high fever at the age of 18.

II.(1).6.10. Alykutty’s Twin Brother

Mathaichan Muthalaly’s youngest son (twin brother of Alykutty died at a very young age. Unfortunately his name is not known.

Fourth Generation

II.(1).7. Rev.George John (Yohannachan)

Rev.George John (Yohannachan) was the youngest son of Nedumchira Puthenveettil Gumasthan Muthalaly. Yohanachan, as he was affectionately called, was born on 2nd November 1981. He completed his school and part of his college education in Thiruvananthapuram and graduated from Madras Christian College. He took his L T degree from the Trivandrum Teacher’s Training College. He joined S C Seminary as a teacher and boarding master. George John was interested in the Christian way of life and became the travelling secretary to the Mar Thoma Church. During this period, he started a girls’ high school in Kottarakara. He was also associated with Thattarukonam Medayil Kunjukunju Muthalaly in establishing the S M V School at Chathannoor. In 1921 he was selected to be one of the four graduate priests of the Mar Thoma Church. He joined the Union ChristianCollege, Aluwa, as a fellowship member in 1924. Later, he was appointed Vicar of the Mar Thoma Church, Thiruvananthapuram, where he established the Mar Thoma Students’ Home. In 1929, he became the Principal of the S C Seminary. The very Rev P J Thomas, an eminent priest of the Mar Thoma Church has paid glowing tributes to Rev. George John in his book ‘100 INDIAN WITNESSES TO JESUS’. He writes thus: ‘In Rev. George John of the Mar Thoma Church we have a great teacher, an ideal Pastor and an effective preacher with a life deeply rooted and founded in the love of Christ. He was one to whom Christ was supremely real. And he was mightily instrumental in making Christ a reality to many’. It is worth mentioning that the son of one among them later became a Bishop of Mar Thoma Church. He was one of the first four to respond to the call of the Mar Thoma Church to university graduates to join its clergy. Of the four he was the only double graduate. Later he joined Union Christian College, Alwaye as a teacher. A few years later he resigned this lucrative position to take up pastoral work at the Trivandurm Mar Thoma Parish which gave him an opportunity to work among students and bring many to Christ. When his services were required by the Mar Thoma Church at one of its premier educational institutions at Tiruvalla, Rev. George John complied happily. In hardly two years time, this faithful servant of God was called away to eternal rest. He passed away in 1930 following a massive heart attack. In fifty years of life on earth, Rev. George John endeared himself to everyone as a heart warming preacher, well-versed in theology and radiant vision of his eternal home. Though his body was initially buried at the S C Seminary Cemetery, his mortal remains were later exhumed to be buried at Cemetery area reserved for Vicar Generals as a mark of honour and respect.He married Sosamma (Thankamma) of Chathenkery, Veeyapuram. They had five sons and two daughters.

II.(1).7.1. Soshamma

Soshamma, the elder daughter of George John Achen was married to V.T. Abraham, Vadakkedathu, Kuriyannur. She is no more.

II.(1).7.2. Mariamma

Mariamma, the second daughter of George John Achen was married to K. K. Koshy Vaidyan of Karipottu Puthenveedu, Thevalakkara. She is no more.

Fifth Generation

II.(1).7.3. John George

John George (Georgekutty) is the eldest son of Rev George John. He completed his college education and started working, first in the Diocesan Press and then at the Devi Press in Madras. He also worked in Burma for some time. He became the Superintendent of the Government Press, Cochin, in 1940. Later he became the Superintendent of the Civil and Military Gazette at Lahore. After two years, he joined Metal Box Company, Bombay, and served the same company at Malaysia and Kenya. He died following a heart attack during this period. His wife was Saramma, daughter of Advocate Mathew, Kulathinal, Kozhencherry. They have one son, John, who is in USA.

II.(1).7.3.1. Sooraj George

Sooraj George John is the only son of Georgekutty. He is settled in the US. His wife is Annamma Jacob and they have two daughters. They all live in the US.

Seventh Generation

II.(1).7.3.1.1. Sherry Thomas

Sherry Thomas is the elder daughter of Sooraj George John. She is married toJacob Thomas. They live in the US.

II.(1).7.3.1.2. Shelly John

Shelly John is the second daughter of Sooraj and Annamma. She is unmarried and is working in the US.

Fifth Generation

II.(1).7.4. John Jacob

John Jacob (Chackochen) of Nedumchira Puthen Veedu, Kaithakuzhy, is the second son of Rev George John, Chackochan went to Malaysia after completing his college education in U C College, Aluwa. He returned to India during the fifties and started a small-scale cashew factory near his house. He took the initiative to start Kaithakuzhy Educational Association in 1964 and started a school in the name of his father Rev. George John. Later, for getting aid from Rotary Club in Australia, the name had been changed to Nehru Memorial English Medium School. He was the Secretary of the Association and also the Principal of the School till 1976. He also started a L.P.School in the name of Kaithakuzhy Nursery School in his property during the year 1975. He was an educationalist, visionary and his selfless hard working nature will be remembered by the society for a long time to come. He passed away on 28.09.1981 following a heart attack. He returned to India in 1999 and is at present working as an Evangelist. . He married Lalith, daughter of P K Samuel, Pallipad Parapillil. After his retirement, he started a business in Chathannoor but later joined an insurance company in Bangalore. This company later became a part of LIC. His wife is Aleyamma Mathew, daughter of Madhavamangalathu Mathaichan, Pathanapuram. They have two sons. Mathaikutty passed away on 22-09-2009 and Aleyamma on 11-10-1998.

II.(1).7.6. J P Abraham (Kunjavarachan)

J P Abraham (Kunjavarachan) is the fourth son of Rev George John. Kunjavarachan joined the Royal Air Force after his education. He commendably served the Air Force in various capacities during the II World War. He was promoted as Flight Sergeant and had served in the 1947 Kashmir war. He retired from service in 1948 and joined Hindustan Aircraft Ltd (Bangalore) and was in charge of Field Service. He also worked in Calcutta, Agra and various other cities. He settled down in Bangalore but died of a heart attack before his retirement. His wife Soshamma hails from Ancheri, Thrissur. They have three sons.

John Abraham (Babu) is the eldest son of Kunjavarachan and Soshamma. After taking his Civil Engineering degree from IIT Madras, Babu, took a post-graduate degree in marketing from IIM Bangalore. He then started his own marketing consultancy in Hyderabad, which is now ranked fourth in India. He married Girlie, daughter of Michael from Kuthiathode. They have a daughter, Sasha who is now studying in USA.

Paul Abraham (Biju), the second son of Kunjavarachan, passed out from the Calicut Regional Engineering College and did his post graduation in management from IIM Calcutta. After working as manager in Asian Paints and Thomas Enterprises, he joined his brother Babu’s consultancy as managing partner. He is now in charge of the Bangalore and Delhi branches of their consultancy. His wife is Saira, daughter of Mr. T V Varghese of Thulakal family. They live in Bangalore and they have a son.

George Abraham (Suresh) is the third and the youngest son of J.P. Abraham and Soshamma. Suresh specialised in Computer Science after his graduation and was an instructor in NIIT, Bangalore. He is now in the US and has his own computer business. He married Jessy and they live in California in the US. They have a daughter – Alika Abraham.

II.(1).7.7. J. P. Alexander (Appoy)

J. P. Alexander (Appoy) is the youngest son of Rev George John. Appoy was born on June 7, 1927. He joined the Royal Indian Navy when he was studying for SSLC. He worked in Bombay for two years and then joined a ship. He was present in Singapore when it surrendered after the war. In 1946, he took part in the Naval mutiny of Feb. 1946 and was jailed for 35 days. On his return from the Navy, he successfully completed his SSLC and got fifth rank. He got seventh rank in the Intermediate examination, which he took from S.B College, Changanacherry. After completing a course in radio telegraphy, he joined the Merchant Navy as a radio officer. He took long leave in 1963 and actively participated in the establishment of the Nehru Memorial School, where he worked as Headmaster for some time. Later, he returned to his ship. After retirement, he became the Manager of the Nehru Memorial School in 1976. He was awarded the Thamrapatra in 1974 by the Government of India for his services to the nation as a freedom fighter. A good sportsman Appoy also receives Freedom Fighter pension from Kerala State and Central Govts. He was Secretary and Manager of the Nehru Memorial School on several occasions. Appoy was a member of hockey, Volley Ball and Cricket teams in his schools and college where he studied. He was the captain of his college cricket team. At present, he takes care of the family property. His wife, Mary Alexander is the daughter of Mathaichan, Mampallil House, Prakkanam. She is a first cousin of Mr. P.J. Thomas Ex MLA and Ex. Chairman of the Rubber Board. Appoy is one of the current Patrons of Koipuram Kudumbayogam. Appoy and Mary have three sons.

John Dennis Alexander (Dennis) is the eldest son of J P Alexander. Dennis was born in 1960. He took his engineering degree from Trivandrum Engineering College and joined FACT as a management trainee. Dennis also passed Diploma in Management as well as Diploma in Export Management examinations He was the Champion sportsman in his school. He was posted in Pune and, Bombay and Aluwa after his training. He later worked in Alfa Laval, Pune, and became the Project Manager of Devi Power Gas, Pune. He left for Doha in 2000 and worked there as Project Manager in an Australian firm. His wife Dr Renu Koshy, MBBS, DOM, is the daughter of Mr. Thomas Koshy, Aluwa. They are now settled in Australia and have two daughters, Kesiah Mary John and Shruthi Ann John.

II.(1).7.7.2. Mathew Ajit Alexander (Ajit)

Mathew Ajit Alexander (Ajit) BSc (Statistics), PGDM. Ajit is the second son of J P Alexander. He was born in 1963. After his graduation, he joined E C Bose and Company, Calcutta, as a management trainee. He took charge as the clearing and forwarding manager of Reply & Co, Calcutta. He later became the Manager of their newly started Madras branch. Ajit resigned his job and started his own clearing and forwarding company. He scored the highest marks in the region for ICS, London for Port Agency & Dry Cargo Chartering. He was the school champion in sports and member of the college Basket ball and Volley ball teams. Ajit is very actively involved in the activities of Jerusalem Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Anna Nagar, Chennai as well as in the Mar Thoma – CSI (Malayalam Congregation) Chennai. His wife Rani is the daughter of Philip Mathew, Padavpurakkal family, Thiruvananthapuram. They have a daughter, Alka Mariam Mathew.

II.(1).7.7.3. George Ranjit Alexander (Ranjit)

George Ranjit Alexander (Ranjit) MBA ( Marketing), B.Tech, is the youngest son of J P Alexander, Ranjit joined the Aristocrat Company after taking his engineering degree from T K M College, Kollam, and MBA from Bombay University. Ranjit represented his school and college in cricket and Football. He was appointed manager of the Nagpur branch and then took up the post of Manager, Kerala in Kochi. He became the Regional Manager of the Gramaphone Company of India at New Delhi. He was Regional Manager of IFB Industries and later became General Manager (Sales). He is at present working in Muscat as Divisional Head of a Consumer Electronics Company. He married Milan Thomas, B.Sc, MBA, daughter of Col. M P Thomas of Ponnassery, Mavelikkara. She was a Teacher while they were in Pune. They have two sons, Anshul Alexander George and Aayush Mathew George.

II.(2). Idichandy Muthalaly

Idichandy Muthalaly, the youngest son of Geevarghese Muthalaly of Nedumchira, was an expert in agriculture. He died at the age of 31 while trying to kill a mad fox. His wife Achyamma was from Kadalazhikam, Kaithakuzhi. They had a son, Geevarghese Muthalaly and a daughter, Mariamma. Mariamma’s husband was from Chempakassery, Injakkal, Mavelikkara. They did not have children. She has later returned to Nedumchira and lived there till her death.

II.(2).1. Geevarghese Muthalaly

Geevarghese Muthalaly, the only son of Idichandy Muthalaly was an expert in agriculture. He married Aleyamrna from Kizhavara, Puthenkavu. They have three sons – Idicahndy Muthalaly, Ninan Muthalaly and Geevarghese Muthalaly. Geevarghese Muthalaly died of diabetes at the age of 30.

II.(2).1.1. G Idichandy Muthalaly

G Idichandy Muthalaly was the eldest son of Geevarghese Muthalaly, Idichandy Muthalaly took charge of the family affairs at the age of 12 after his father’s death. He excelled in athletics and horse riding and was a good
hunter A man of good physique, he was the first to bring the sport ‘maramadi’ to South Travancore. He encouraged people to participate in sports, particularly in wrestling. A good businessman, he ran two bus services, ‘Yeshu Vijayam’ and ‘Sriyeshu Vijayam’. He was the manager of S M V School, Chathannoor, for a long time and was the president of the Kaithakuzhi Service Co-operative Society till his death. During his tenure as president of the Society a land for the Society was purchased and a building built in it. He was an effective mediator in many disputes and settled many of them out of court. He married Aachiyamma from Thenalil, Kurudamannil. She was the daughter of K I Chacko. They had five sons and two daughters. Aachiyamma died in 1950 and Idichandy Muthalaly in 1951. Both of them are buried in Kaithakuzhi Mar Thoma Church Cemetery.

II.(2).1.1.1. Aleyamma (Aleykutty)

Aleyamma (Aleykutty), the elder daughter of Idichandy Muthalaly and Achiyamma is married to P C Oommen of Polachirakkal, Mavelikkara. They have three sons, Dr P O Ninan, Alex P Oommen and Dr Thomas P. Oommen.

II.(2).1.1.2. Annie (Annyamma)

The second daughter of Idichandy Muthalaly is married to Dr Koshy of Moonnammadam, Poothicote, Mepral. They have four daughters, Alice, Susan, Anila and Elsa.

II.(2).1.1.3. Georgekutty

Georgekutty was the eldest son of Idichandy Muthalay and Achiyamma. Georgekutty died of typhoid when he was young.

II.(2).1.1.4. N I Jacob

N I Jacob (Chackochan), was the second son of Idichandy Muthalaly of Nedumchira Thottathil. N.I. Jacob took charge of the family property after his schooling. He was an active leader of the Kerala Congress and was responsible for the formation of its Chathannoor
branch. He was president and state committee member as well as Kollam district president of Kerala Congress. He was a member of the Aadichanelloor panchayat for 16 years. He was an able leader and a good organiser of farmers. He was also the president of the Koippuram Kudumba Yogam. His wife, Thankamma, was a member of the Kuttachira family. Chackochan passed away in 1988 and Thankamma passed away in 1995. They have three daughters.

Susy, the eldest daughter of Chackochan and Thankmma is married to Idicheria Joseph, Ponvanibham, Kavanal, Enathu. They have a son Dilip and a daughter Deepa.

Molly, the second daughter of Chackochan and Thankamma is married to Thampy Varghese, son of M V Varghese, Thamarasseriyil, Calicut. They have two daughters Seena and Dr. Sini.

Elsy, the youngest daughter of Chackochan and Thankamma is married to P J Mathews (Joe), son of V I Jacob Muthalaly, New Bungalow, Valiyaveedu, Karamcode. Since Chackochan and Thankamma had no sons Joe and Elsy inherited Nedumchira Thottathil House and they are settled there. They have two daughters and a son. N I Alex (Alexkutty), is the third son of Idichandy Muthalaly of Nedumchira Thottathil. He started his career as
Remy Thomas Jacob, B.Com. (DOB 14 – 12 – 1966), the only daughter of N 1 Alex, is married to Pradeep Thomas Jacob, B.Sc, (DOB 19 – 05 – 1959) son of M J Thomas and Sosamma J. Thomas of Mangalath family of Kottayam. They got married on 22.08.1988. Pradeep works as an officer at Accountant General Office at Calicut.They have two daughters, Kripa Susanna Thomas (DOB 3 – 8 – 1992) and Vismaya Rachel Thomas (DOB 17 – 12 – 2000). Kripa is a BDS student and Vismaya is a school going student.

Regy Nedumchira Alex, B.A of Nedumchira Highland View, Kaithakuzhy, Adichanalloor. (DOB 28 – 11 – 1956 is the son of N I Alex and Saly. Regy works in Dubai as Chief Accountant of AL –Huraiz Est. Ever-hot Co Dubai. His wife Reeba is the daughter of P.J. Poulose of Pynadeth House, Ankamaly. Regy married Reeba on 18.10.1984. After completing his college education from Fatima Mata National College, Kollam, he started his career as a businessman by starting an umbrella manufacturing unit at Mavelikara and then a second unit at Kaithakuzhy in 1958. A good sportsman and a wrestler, Mathaikutty was the Captain of Fatima Mata National College Volleyball team. He had served as Trustee of Kaithakuzhy Mar Thoma Church consecutively for three years. He represented the Kaithakuzhy Mar Thoma Church in the Sabha Prathinithi Mandalam for 6 years. Mathaikutty married Kunjamma, daughter of M. V. Varghese and Deenamma Varghese, Mannucarottu, Thamarassery, Kozhikode on 19.05.1955. Mathaikutty died on 30.01.1994. After that, Kunjamma carried on with the business unit for few more years. They have a daughter and two sons.

Gigi Varghese. M.Sc; B.Ed. the only daughter of Late Mr. N.I Mathew, DOB 28.09.1963. She took her M. Sc degree in Botany fromFatima Mata National College, Kollam. Thereafter, she took B.Ed and Home Science Diploma. Gigi is married to Mr. P.K. Varghese (Biju), M.Com (DOB: 10 – 04 – 1959), son of Late Mr. P.V, Koshy and Mrs. Ponnamma Koshy of Paradayil, Pathiyoor. Biju works as the Branch Manager of Co-operative Bank, Kayamkulam. Geogi, the elder son of N.I. Mathew took his B.A, degree in English Literature from Fatima Mata National College, Kollam in 1986. Thereafter he took his L.L.B. degree from the Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvanathapuram. He was enrolled as an Advocate in 1990 and started his practice before the District Courts, Kollam and the subordinate Courts thereto. He married Sini Sara Philip, B.Sc. (Chemistry), daughter of Ranger P.K.Philip and Aleykutty Philip, Plamoottil, Kadampanad, Adoor on DOB 01.01.1994. Geogi shifted his practice to the High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam in 2004 and is residing there with his family. He is currently handling various branches of law in doing his independent practice there. He was one among the advocates who represented the Mar Thoma Sabha in the High Court of Kerala in the Episcopal Election cases. He represented the Kaithakuzhy Mar Thoma Church in the Sabha Prathinithi Mandalam for 9 years. He served as one of the Trustees of the Mar Thoma Public Charitable Trust constituted by the Mar Thoma Sabha. Geogi and Sini have two sons, Aaron Mathew Alex and Alan Philip Alex.

Manoj married Ansu George, MCA, daughter of Rev. C.V. George and Prof. T.K. Sosamma of Chennattu Roopaka, Kozhencherry on 12th July 2002. N I John (Johnichan), the youngest son of Idichandy Muthalaly of Nedumchira Thottathil, took his degree in electrical engineering and started his career as a junior engineer in Kerala Electricity Board. While working in Pathanamthitta as an engineer, he died in a car accident in 1966. A God fearing and honest officer, he had been able to earn the praise of his superiors within a short span of time. His wife Shantha is from Kidanginethu, Ayroor. She had worked as a warden in the Mar Thoma College hostel. They have a son, Jubin John Muthalaly.

Jubin John Muthalaly is the only son of N I John (Johnichan) and Shantha. He married Anita, M.Sc, B.Ed, the only daughter of Abraham Varghese, Naalaamvelil, Tiruvalla. She teaches Physics at Mar Thoma Residential School, Tiruvalla. They live at ‘Nedumchira’, J.P Nagar, Kuttapuzha. Both Anita and Jubin are members of the Mar Thoma church choir and Choristers Fellowship and Choral Society, Tiruvalla. II.(2).1.2. G Ninan Muthalaly

G Ninan Muthalaly (Anki Muthalaly), (DOB 08 – 07 -1899) Anki Muthalaly was the second son of Nedumchirayil Geevarghese Muthalaly. He had to take up the responsibility of his family at a very young age because of his father’s death. He was a social worker and was highly respected by the public. Anki Muthalaly was the silent strength behind his brother Idichandy Muthaly. He was very helpful to the poor and was interested in church activities. He was the prime person in constructing Kaithakuzhy Mar Thoma Church and for many years he served the church as Trustee. The first parsonage of the church was constructed during his period as Trustee. He also worked as the Manager of Kaithakuzhy L.P. School and SMV School, Chathannoor for many years. He was one among the founder members of Kaithakuzhy Service Co-operative Society and later he served as its President for many years. On 07.05.1921 he married Mariamma, the daughter of Inspector Mathew of Aviyottu Bungalow, Kottarakkara. Mariamma served as a Trustee of Kaithakuzhy Mar Thoma Church Sevika Sangam for many years. They had one daughter – Elizabeth (Alikutty) and three sons – N. George (Kunjukunju), N. Mathew (Baby) and Rajan Ninan (Rajan). Mariamma passed away on 22.09.1973 and Anki Muthalaly passed away on 03.01.1982 at the age of 82. Both of them were buried in Kaithakuzhy Mar Thoma Church Cemetery.

II.(2).1.2.1. Elizabeth (Alikutty)

Elizabeth (Alikutty) (DOB 14 – 04 – 1923) is the only daughter of Anki Muthalaly. She is married to Mr. M.C. Oommen, S/o Dr. M.O. Chacko of Karakkkal Moolamannil, Thiruvalla. They have settled down in Chennai. They have six sons and two daughters. They are:- M.O. Chacko (Sunny), M.O Roy (Roy), M.O. Thomas (Titty), M.O. Koshy (Koshy), M.O. George (Jopy), M. O. Mathew (Renjit), Susan Mani (Thankam) and Mary Mathew (Mary).

II.(2).1.2.2. N. George (Kunjukunju)

N. George (Kunjukunju) (DOB 28 – 08 – 1926) & (DOD 18 – 06 – 2000). Kunjukunju is the eldest son of Anki Muthalaly. He completed his schooling from Kaithakuzhy SMV School, Keezhillam and Ayroor Kalalayam. He was a hard working person and was interested in farming. He was honored many times with Awards and Karshakasree by Adichanalloor Agriculture Office and Panchayath. He was very much interested in the agricultural sport - “Maramadi” which was very popular at that time. He was very sociable person and kept very good relationship with the public.

The present Parsonage of Kaithakuzhy Mar Thoma Church was built based on the initiative taken by Kunjukunju. He was one among the initial members in setting up “Milma” Milk Collecting Unit in Adichanalloor and he was an active Director of this for a long time. His deep rooted public relationship helped to solve many disputes in the society. Kunjukunju married Marykutty, D/o Mr. V.I. Philip of Oolikkara, Perunadu in 1947. Marykutty was a very pious woman. She was very active in all church prayer meetings and was widely respected by the public. They have five sons and a daughter. Marykutty passed away on 14.01.2000 and Kunjukunju on 18.06.2000. Both of them are buried in Kaithkuzhy Mar Thoma Church Cemetery.

II.(2).1.2.2.1. Mariamma George

Mariamma George (Alice) is the only daughter of Kunjukunju. She is married to George Zachariah (Vijayan) the eldest son of Kariachan of Randupurakkal, Thumpamon. They have two sons – Ron Z. George and Ray G. George. Ron, after his Post Graduation is employed in Abu Dhabi. He married Raji and they have a daughter – Evana Ray. After completing his MCA Ray joined Syntel and is currently working in USA. His wife Rincy MCA.

II.(2).1.2.2.2. Ninan George (Kunjumon)

Ninan George (Kunjumon), Nedumchira Gijo Villa, Adichanelloor (P.O), Kollam. is the eldest son of Kunjukunju and Marykutty. After completing his education, Kunjumon, worked in Salem Flour Mills and later became Supervisor of Vazhakkala Estate, Wyanad, and Oil RefineryCompany, Changanassery. He married Christie Ninan, of Thundiath House, (Mulamoottil family) Kozhencherry. They have a son and a daughter.

II.(2).1.2.2.2.1. Jeelu M. Benoy

Jeelu M. Benoy is the only daughter of Kunjumon and Christie. She has completed a course in medical electronics. Jeelu is married to Benoy Koshy, Inchekkal House, Cherukol, Mavelikara. Benoy is working in Abudabi. They have two children, a son, Shawn B. Koshy and a daughter, Sirya Rajma Koshy. Both of them are school going students.

II.(2).1.2.2.2.2. Gijo N. George (Gijo)

Gijo N. George (Gijo) is the only son of Ninan George. After completing his college education, he started working in Saudi Arabia as Sales Supervisor. He married Shiji Rajan of Kezhakkathil House, Adichanellur. Shiji is a Nurse in Saudi Arabia. They have a daughter, Ayrene Christy George.

Ayrene Christy George is the only daughter of Gijo and Shiji.

II.(2).1.2.2.2. Philip George

Philip George, the second son of N. George, died at a very young age.

II.(2).1.2.2.3. George Philip (Thampi)

George Philip (Thampi) Nedumchira II, Velichekkalla (P.O, Adichanelloor, Kollam is the third son of N. George He worked in Saudi Arabia for some time and is now settled in Kaithakuzhi. Thampi is doing business. He is interested in agriculture and is the President of Group Farming Committee. He is an active social worker and a Mandalam Committee Member of CPI. He married Saly (Rachael), daughter of Baby V Alexandar, Kizhakkeveettil, Odanavattom. They have a son –Samuel.

Samuel George Philip is the only son of Thampi and Saly. He is a student.

Shaji G. Mathew, (DOB 28–10–1957), Nedumchira Deepthi, Adichanelloor (P.O), Kollam. Shaji is the fourth son of N.George and Marykutty. After completing a course in air conditioning. Shaji has been doing business in Saudi Arabia. Shaji married (DOM 09 – 01 1986) Elizabeth Mathew (Usha), daughter of P.J. Alexander, Deputy Superintendent of Police. New Bungalow, Valiyaveedu, Chathannoor. They have two sons and a daughter.

Shanu George Mathew (Shanu) B.E (Electronics & Communication) is the elder son of Shaji Mathew. He is working with IBM as Networking Engineer.

II.(2).1.2.2.4.2. Titto Alex Mathew (Titto)

Titto Alex Mathew (Titto) is the second son of Shaji Mathew. Titto is studying for B.E in Mechanical Engineering.

II.(2).1.2.2.4.3. Soumya Mirin Mathew

Soumya Mirin Mathew is the daughter of Shaji Mathew. She is a Plus Two student.

II.(2).1.2.2.5. Shibu G. Thomas,

Shibu G. Thomas, B.Sc.(Zoology); Diploma in Sales & Marketing. (DOB 17-10–1968), Nedumchira Kizhakkumkara, Adichanelloor (P.O),Kollam. Shibu, the fifth son of N. George, started his career as a supervisor in a British company in Saudi Arabia. Shibu also worked as Regional Manager, Supreme Foods in KSA. He worked as General Manager, Suguna Poultry and was responsible for its sales in India. Shibu is one of the Directors of Happy Land Water Theme Park at Vembayam, Thiruvananthapuram. Shibu married Rini (DOM 17 02 – 1997), daughter of M.P. Cherian, Ponvayalil Moodayil, Karthikappalli. They have two children, a Son - Ankith George Thomas and a daughter - Surya Mary Thomas.

II.(2).1.2.3. N. Mathew (Baby)

N. Mathew (Baby) (1928 – 2007) is the second son of G. Ninan Muthalaly, (Anki Muthalaly). Baby completed his schooling in Kerala and did automobile engineering in Chennai. He started his own business in Chennai and then moved on to become Manager in Kallar Valley Estate in Munnar and Vellamala Coffee Plantations in Wayanad. Later, he started his own business – J M J Industries in Kalpetta manufacturing steel furniture. He was socially very active. He was the Secretary of Rotary Club, Wayanad Chapter and the President of Small Scale Industrial Association, Wayanad. He married Ammini, D/o K.K. Kochummen, Kadavil, Mavelikara on June 2nd 1958. Baby was called to eternity on 16.04.2007. They have four daughters and one son.

Sherry Alex Thomas is the eldest daughter of N. Mathew (Baby) and Ammini. Sherry married Dr. Alex Thomas, Kulathakkal family of Arammula. They have 2 daughters and a son.

Shiny K. Thomas, the second daughter of Baby and Ammini, is married to Renchy K. Thomas, Thoralayil family, Chennithala. They are settled in USA. They have 2 daughters.

II.(2).1.2.3.3. Sheeba Mathew

Sheeba Mathew, the third daughter of Baby and Ammini is married to Mathew George, Chempothra family, Iyroor. They have a son and a daughter.

II.(2).1.2.3.4. Annie N Mathew

Annie N Mathew is the youngest daughter of Baby and Ammini. After completing B.Com, she is currently taking care of the family Business at Kalpetta.

II.(2).1.2.3.5. Sam N Mathew (Sam)

Sam N Mathew (Sam) MBA (DOB 20 – 05 – 1972), 601 Blossom Circle, Dayton, New Jersey, USA – 08810. Sam is the only son of N Mathew, After completing his MBA he is settled in Bangalore. However, Sam is working in th US as General Manager for Wipro Technologies. He is socially very active and is a leader and speaker in Information Technology. He is a member of Karnataka Golf Association. He married Reena from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. They have two son, Aryan Sam Mathew and, Aarav Sam Mathew.

II.(2).1.2.4. Rajan Ninan (Rajan)

Rajan Ninan (Rajan), Nedumchira. (DOB 25 – 01– 1937). is the youngest son of Ninan Muthalaly (Anki Muthalaly), Rajan,did his schooling in SMV School, Chathannoor and Keezhillam School. He graduated from New College, Madras. He worked as a supervisor in Kundara Aluminium Company for several years. He is an active politician and is the president of the Kerala Congress, Chathannoor Constituncy, and a member of the state committee of the Kerala Congress (M). He was also the secretary to the supervisory staff association of Kundara Aluminium Factory. He also functioned as a member of the Mar Thoma Sabha Mandalam, secretary to the Kerala Congress District Committee, convener, UDF, Chairman, Election committee, Panchayat member and general convener of Janakeeya Aasoothranam. He was also the vice-president of the Kaithakuzhi Mar Thoma Church. Rajan worked as General Convener of all construction activities of Kaithakuzhi Mar Thoma Church, from 1990 including the construction of the new church which was dedicated in March 2011. Currently he is the President Milk Society of Adichanelloor, President Ksheera Karshaka Union, Ithikkara Block, Member of Legal Social Service Committee, Kollam District and Member of Land Assignment Committee, Kollam. His wife Elsie is from Vadakkanethu Parakodu, Adoor. (DOM 29 – 11 – 1959). She is the daughter of G. Thomas. They have three sons.

II.(2).1.2.4.1. Benny Ninan

Benny Ninan, MSW, LLB. Benny, the eldest son of Rajan Ninan, he works as Administrative Officer, Dodsel Company. Married Dr. Susanna, daughter of P.V. George, Muttathu, Haripad. She worked as a scientist in Sitra, Coimbatore. . They have two sons, Roshan B. Ninan and Kiran B Ninan. Benny Ninan and his family live in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and are considering to settle down there.

Thomas Ninan (Titti) is the second son of Rajan Ninan. Titti joined Birla Tyres as Area Manager after completing his B.Com. He is currently working in Kuwait. His wife Anita is the daughter of James of Ernakulam. Anita worked as Manager of Kings Exporting Co., and currently doing own business.They are settled in Ernakulam and have two daughters,Neetu Thomas and Nikita Thomas.

Christy Ninan (Christy), the youngest son of Rajan Ninan, took his degree in mechanical engineering and worked for a while in Saudi Arabia. At present, he is in Kuwait. He is a lover of sports. He married Linu, daughter of Joseph, Punnamottil, Kottayam. They have a daughter, Nayama Elsa Christie and a son Ninan Christy Nedumchiara.
